Manual multicam syncing steals hours from every project

In multicam projects, sorting hundreds of clips and reconstructing when each shot happened can consume a large amount of time before editing even begins. Mecano automates that stage when the files preserve a coherent temporal reference in their metadata.

It does not magically sync every possible file. Accuracy depends on the temporal information recorded by each manufacturer, so hardware compatibility matters.

Mecano needs a coherent temporal reference

Mecano relies on the camera preserving a valid time correlation between clips. If a device does not maintain that relationship in its metadata, Mecano cannot automatically reconstruct the real position of those files.

Tested with valid results

Nikon · Blackmagic · Panasonic · Sony · Canon

In our tests, some Blackmagic cameras can show timecode drift while still preserving the day-level temporal reference Mecano needs.

Hardware without temporal correlation

It is not compatible with Mecano’s automatic workflow. We have encountered this behavior with some DJI devices we tested.

For other brands and models, compatibility depends on how the manufacturer writes metadata. If in doubt, use the 7-day trial with your own footage before purchasing.
